Description.

Before the revolution in 1917, in Lytkarino, Moscow Region, there was an estate of Count Chernyshev. In the park in front of the manor on a pedestal made of local sandstone a sundial was installed. By the time of restoration beginning only a pedestal was preserved. Nadine Golubeva, the director of the Lytkarino History Museum, asked me to restore the pedestal and make a new sundial. I restored pedestal, replacing lost parts and sand all surfaces again. The sundial is made of brass and inserted into the frame bade of bronze. The instrument measures time at the Lytkarinsky meridian. At the request of the head of the local planetarium Kuznetsova Marina the dial was provided with an additional scale measuring time at the meridian of Rome. Roma is a city in which Princess Mary, the last owner of the estate, died. To convert readings into the mean time the dial is equipped with the graph of the equation of time. Gnomon has a nodus indicating the equinoxes, solstices and the International Museum Day — August, 18.
