Specification

Single copy. The length of the major axis is 6 000 mm. The scale of dates and the parts of the dial are cast of bronze by S. Seryozhin and V. Erdyneev. The space between the dial and the scale of dates is paved with chopped granite stones of four colors that lay on a monolithic reinforced foundation.

Description

The scale of dates is divided into twelve calendar months and twelve zodiac months. In the reference points of the major axis of the ellipse, two bronze viziers are installed. They can be used to determine the time of sunrise and sunset. It can be done even in the absence of the sun. Next to the sundial a granite prism with a bronze plaque is mounted. It contains the manual and the motto. The moto is a quote from the apocryphal Gospel of Jesus the son of Salah «Investigate the time and save yourself from the evil». The instrument is installed in Shelkovo city in summer of 2009.
