The word «Sundial» is in quotes. Despite the fact that the south facing vertical dial is designed for geographic coordinates of Moscow this sundial cannot be used to measuring time. It has no gnomon. The purpose of the “sundial” is to decorate a garden. It is made of a piece of limestone rock. Patina, consisting of microscopic algae and lichens, is planted naturally. For five years, this piece of a Crimea rock was exposed to all the peculiar properties of Moscow climate. Celtic ornament on the side faces is inscribed into the natural irregularities and chips of the rock. Dandelion leaf is made in the of bas-relief technique.
